Tiradora, is a member of the Istari, or wizard, race. There were five Istari originally mentioned by Tolkein, but two are never really discussed. Tiradora is one of these two. She was sent from the West (Pittsburgh) to help in the many struggles faced by those in Maethodoron and to aid in the leadership of Fellowship as it grew.

Similar to the Elvish race, Tiradora(and other Istari) do not grow old, but they can be killed. In an attempt to fit in to modern day society, Tiradora has filled her time in Maethodoron as a Comtel Wireless sales rep by day. Photographer by night. And bad ass sword fighter/wizard by weekend.

Tiradora's crest, which is permanently designed on her back, is that of the mythical Pheonix. This bird, which can live for up to 1461 years before being reborn and which can regenerate when injured reflects the mystical nature of Tiradora's race as well as her own personal healing traits.
